Hosted by Prof. Dr. Ad De Roo of the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC), EUCalc Partners from Imperial College London, East Anglia University, Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and SEE Change Net met on the 13th of February to discuss data gaps and solutions as inputs to EUCalc. The meeting followed the publication of the most recent JRC technical report on “Impact of a changing climate, land use, and water usage on Europe’s water resources: A model simulation study” (see here for more info on the report).
The meeting offered the opportunity to meet several JRC teams from the agriculture, water, air pollution, land-use and forestry sectors. Following a presentation of the EUCalc in a “plenary” session (20-30 participants), EUCalc partners had the opportunity to meet the experts through a series of face to face meetings to discuss data availability as well as the model, modules and levers developed through the expert consultation workshops undertaken in the previous months.
